Our Queenstown Showhome

Hanley’s Farm, in the Southern Lakes is located on a 3km stretch of land sitting between Lake Wakatipu, Deer Park Heights and The Remarkables, and is the home of our newest Queenstown showhome, which opened a year ago.

Built in the Southern Lakes twin pavilion style, our showhome is open, welcoming and boasts unique building design features, while still showcasing our Golden Homes standard features.

The harsh extreme weather in Queenstown requires homes to be dry throughout the year. One of the many great features in a Golden Homes home is the use of the HomeRab rigid air barrier as a pre-cladding, and we were a leader in changing to this system. In addition, our homes have passive ventilators built into our wet-area windows and all windows are double glazed and have thermally broken joinery which reduces condensation build-up dramatically, meaning we aren’t introducing moisture into the thermal envelope, keeping the home dry and warm in winter and cooler in summer. All Golden Homes houses are built with structurally superior ZOG Steel Framing, tested to magnitude 9, and it is a huge bonus from a moisture point of view also.

The architectural style of the showhome is unique and features a simple gable form with the clever use of cedar exterior cladding, which pairs beautifully with the alpine scenery.

There is a need to build family homes in Queenstown for the masses of people who are here to support the huge growth in tourism. Homes are currently being built across the whole Southern Lakes region, with a large proportion in Hanley’s Farm. Hanley’s Farm is quickly becoming a popular place to live due to its proximity to both rural lifestyle and the town centre, so you really can have the best of both worlds in one of New Zealand’s most spectacular areas.
