Golden Kiwi Talent Pool Rewarded

Swimming is a tough competitive sport. Gruelling early morning training sessions, training again in the afternoon and it is expensive to compete at a national level let alone on the international stage.

Five years ago Golden Homes identified there can often be a disconnect between young talent and the resource to take promising careers to the next level. Understanding that it can be nearly impossible to train well, work to pay fees and travel to compete in international competitions.

The Golden Homes scholarship was established in 2012 and since then 6 amateur swimmers have been awarded the unique opportunity to be selected for a fully funded year of swimming at North Shore Swimming Club, New Zealand's largest and most successful swimming club.

The recipients for 2017 are: Corneille Coetzee; Carina Doyle; Jacob Garrod; Finn Kennard-Campbell; Callum Prime and Yeonsu Lee. These swimmers have either qualified for World University Games or Junior Commonwealth Games.

Golden Homes continue to enjoy their partnership with swimming and are proud of the part they play in the lives of so many young athletes.
