North Shore Swimming Partnership Hits 10 Year Mark

Golden Homes is proud to reach the 10-year sponsorship milestone with North Shore Swimming (NSS), New Zealand’s largest and most successful swimming club.

In 2012, Golden Homes identified there can often be a disconnect between young talent and the resource to take promising careers to the next level. Understanding that it can be nearly impossible to train well, work to pay fees and travel to compete in international competitions, we took the opportunity to partner with and support North Shore Swimming.

One of the club’s most recent successes includes 19 year-old Cameron Gray winning a bronze medal in the 50m butterfly at the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, an amazing achievement!

Our sponsorship currently supports the club coach education which enables coaches to upskill at no cost to themselves, parents of the club or the club itself, as well as supplying uniforms and coaching gear.

The Golden Homes Swimfest is also part of our sponsorship package and this is the biggest New Zealand club event, held annually with $25,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs – a key attraction for all swimmers at this event.

Tonya Osborne, event coordinator and NSS administrator says the prize money from Golden Homes has grown over the years and is really appreciated by all competitors throughout New Zealand. “Swimming is a very expensive sport to participate in at a competitive level, so the opportunity to win money goes a long way to help with the cost of this sport, and its also a nice reward as many of the senior swimmers spend 18 hours or more in the water following a black line every week.

On a sport level we have also supplied timekeeping stands for each starting block for Auckland Swimming and for the Sir Owen G. Glenn National Aquatic Centre, and the technical official shirts for all Auckland Swimming officials.

Golden Homes are very proud of this long-standing partnership and look forward to seeing the bright future of North Shore Swimming.
