4 Easy spring cleaning tips

Say goodbye to cold winter days and hello to the sun (hopefully!) and warmth of spring.

Spring cleaning - it's no secret that spending an entire weekend cleaning sounds like an nightmare, but with a little elbow grease and a lot of willpower, it's easier than it sounds. Here are our tips for easy spring cleaning!

1. Clean room by room

Approaching your house room by room is a great way to deep-clean your home at any time of the year, especially in spring. Make a list and use room checklists as a guide for deep-cleaning the areas of your home that need extra attention - it feels pretty good to cross off each completed task too!

2. De-clutter

There's a simple rule you can use to de-clutter your home - if you haven't used something in the past six months, then you should consider throwing it away. The only exception to this rule is seasonal items and clothing. Separate items into 'keep', 'donate' or 'throw away' to avoid any valuables getting thrown out by mistake. You will be pleased with how much additional room you'll have after you de-clutter!

3. Seasonal Chores

There are some chores that can be done seasonally. They're usually ignored for most of autumn and winter, but now is a great time to knuckle down and get those things clean. Outdoor chores like cleaning the grill, patio, and windows can be a little intimidating, but they need to be done - aim for one 'big' seasonal job per weekend to keep it easy and manageable.

4. Enlist help!

If you need a little help with cleaning, get your family involved! Try throwing on some music or establishing a family reward as an incentive to get the work done!
